The former logo is a rainbow apple. According to logoblog.org, "This was done to commemorate the discoveries of gravity (the apple) and the separation of light (the colors) done by Isaac Newton and possibly to tribute the ‘fruit of the Tree of Knowledge’ in Adam and Eve’s story." However, the actual historical background of the logo is uncertain. Regardless, the apple symbol has become a world renowned symbol.
I found this logo online for a company called Burns Music Studios. This is bar far one of the most appealing logos I've seen. The image is a creative blend of a fire (after the company name "Burns") and a musical note (demonstrating what the company is about). The colors are in the red-orange family (secondary colors) but are not bright and overbearing. It looks modern, unique, and sophisticated.Lastly, Puma also has a unique, recognizable logo. The color of the logo varies but the text and the image of a leaping puma is the same. The color is typically bold and the logo tends to 'stand out' on its products.
